Customs, import taxes, and international delivery

Whether you pay any import charges depends on where your order is delivered and which of our stores you ordered from. The cases below cover the common situations.

Deliveries within the EU (orders from our EU store)

Orders from our EU store are dispatched from Brussels. For delivery to an address inside the EU:

• VAT is included in the price you pay at checkout. There is nothing further to pay on delivery.
• No customs duties or import handling fees apply. The goods are already in free circulation within the EU.
• Your order travels as a domestic EU shipment, so there is no customs clearance step.

Deliveries within the UK (orders from our UK store)

Orders from our UK store are dispatched from the UK. For delivery to a UK address:

• VAT is included in the price you pay at checkout. There is nothing further to pay on delivery.
• No customs charges apply to domestic UK deliveries.

International deliveries (orders crossing a customs border)

If your order crosses a customs border, for example an EU-store order delivered outside the EU, or a UK-store order delivered outside the UK, it may be subject to import VAT, customs duties, and a handling or clearance fee set by the destination country. For UK-store orders shipped outside the UK, website prices exclude VAT and these charges are collected on delivery instead.

These charges are set by your local authorities and are outside of our control.

How customs charges are applied

Customs charges are assessed by the destination country, not by KSEC. The courier or postal service usually acts as the customs broker and will contact the recipient directly if payment or additional information is required.

These charges may include:

• Import VAT charged at your local rate
• Customs duties depending on the product type and value
• Handling or clearance fees charged by the courier or postal service

My tracking says the item is with customs, is this normal?

Yes. It is normal for international shipments to pause while being assessed by customs. During this time, tracking may not update for several days. A customs hold does not mean there is a problem with your order.

What if customs ask for more information?

If customs require additional information, they will normally contact the recipient directly using the details provided on the shipment. This may include payment of import charges, proof of purchase or invoice, or confirmation of intended use. Respond to the courier or customs authority as soon as possible to avoid further delays.

How long does customs clearance take?

Clearance times vary by country, courier, and time of year. Some parcels clear within hours, others may take several days or longer. KSEC cannot speed up or influence this process.

Who is responsible for customs charges?

The recipient is responsible for paying any customs charges and for engaging with local customs authorities if required. KSEC is unable to intervene in customs decisions or request releases on behalf of customers. If you are unsure about potential import fees, we recommend contacting your local customs office before placing an order.
